Is This For You?

Almost everyone we work with was told “no” by a lender for a reason that has little to do with whether they can actually afford a home. If one of these sounds like you, you’re a good fit:

You’re self-employed or 1099

Your income is real and provable, but write-offs or non-W-2 pay make underwriters nervous.

You had a credit event that’s aging off

A past bankruptcy, foreclosure, medical collection, divorce, or identity-theft mess — you have cash and income now, but the timeline hasn’t cleared yet.

You were a near-miss

Your score or debt-to-income ratio was “almost” — just outside what one lender wanted this month.

You’re new to U.S. credit

Strong income and savings, relocating or growing a family, but a thin or short U.S. credit history.

You’ve saved the down payment already

You have $20,000+ ready now and you don’t want to lose a year or two of rising prices “fixing” credit before you can own.

The thing every lender misses: for a lease-to-own home, what matters most is verifiable income and at least the minimum down payment — not a three-digit credit score. Had a bankruptcy? A collection? A short credit history? That does not disqualify you here.

How It Works

Four steps. Nothing is owed until you choose a specific home.

  1. 1

    Join the buyer list

Tell us the areas, monthly budget, and timeline you want. It’s free, there’s no credit check, and it puts you on our radar before homes are advertised.

  2. 2

    We find homes that fit

When we get a home that matches what you asked for, everyone on the list who fits gets notified.

  3. 3

You tour it and make your offer

Matching buyers view the home and submit their own terms — the down payment (option fee) and the monthly rent they’re offering. It’s first-come, first-served, and we choose from the offers.

  4. 4

You move in with the right to buy

You sign a lease plus a written option that locks your purchase price for the term. You live in the home now. When you’re mortgage-ready, you buy it — and your option fee is credited toward the price.

Straight Talk About the Terms

Many people in similar positions have been misled before. We’d rather lose you here than surprise you later, so here is the honest version:

  • You need at least $20,000 available for the option payment on most homes — some require more. Plus a normal security deposit and first month’s rent.
  • The option payment is not refundable. It buys your exclusive right to purchase one specific home at a locked price. When you buy, it’s credited toward the price. If you walk away, you don’t get it back — so only put money down on a home you fully intend to buy.
  • It is not held in a separate escrow or “savings” account, and we do not promise to repair your credit. We’re a real estate company, not a lender or a credit-repair service. We connect people to their new homes now.
  • Homes are competitive. More than one qualified buyer may want the same house. It’s first-come, first-served.
  • Joining the list guarantees nothing except that you’ll be notified about matches. There’s no fixed number of homes or timeline.
  • Everything is in writing before you pay a dollar, and we want you to have your own attorney review it.

Buyer Stories

“I’ll admit, I thought this was another scam at first. But I needed a way to buy, so I got on their buyer list. The team was friendly, and three weeks later I was matched to a property, and it was perfect. I submitted my offer, and to my surprise I was accepted. Now I’ve got the perfect home!”

— Luke, San Antonio, TX

“It was simple. They walked me through everything step by step, they answered all my questions, and now I’m living in my dream home here in FL.”

— Steve, Lynn Haven, FL

Questions People Ask Us First

Is this legit, or is it a scam?

Fair question — a lot of people in similar positions have been burned. CreditFreeHomeBuying.com is a veteran- and family-owned business. Our company name, phone numbers, and email are right on this page — call us and talk to a real person. Every term is put in writing before you pay anything, and we encourage you to have your own attorney review the agreement.

What exactly is a lease option?

You lease the home like a normal rental, and you also get the exclusive, written right to buy it at a price that’s locked in when you start. An upfront option payment secures that right. When you buy the home, that payment is credited toward the purchase. It lets you move in now and buy once you’re mortgage-ready.

Do I need good credit at all?

No credit score minimum to join the buyer list, and no credit check to get on it. When a home is available, what matters is that you can document steady income and have the minimum funds for the down payment / option fee (typically $20,000, varies by home). We may verify income and funds before signing. We are not a credit repair company and we don’t fix credit for you.

What happens to my down payment / option fee?

It’s an option fee, not a deposit held in a separate account. It buys your exclusive right to purchase that specific home at the locked price during your lease term. When you buy the home, it’s credited toward the purchase price. If you decide not to buy, it is not refunded — so you should only put money down on a home you fully intend to purchase. You’ll see all of this in writing first.

How much money do I need?

Plan on at least $20,000 available for the option payment; some homes require more depending on price. You’ll also need a normal security deposit and first month’s rent, and steady, verifiable income.

What does it cost to join the buyer list?

Nothing. Joining is free, there’s no credit check, and there’s no obligation. You only put money down later if you choose to move forward on a specific home.

How does getting matched work?

When we get a home that fits what buyers on the list asked for, we notify everyone who matches. It’s first-come, first-served: interested buyers tour the home and submit their own offer (down payment and monthly rent). We select from those offers.

Are you a mortgage lender?

No. We’re not a lender, bank, or credit repair organization, and this isn’t a loan or a mortgage pre-approval. It’s a lease with a contractual option to buy.
